Around fifty automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.
The substance had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.
Officers then located numerous other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations show the substance was probably human blood.
"There is still no lead as to where it came from; investigators are currently not informed of any physical harm in association with the event," they commented.
City officials announced they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the residents for information.
A senior political figure stated the attack left him speechless and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, referring to the death of nine victims by a shooter aiming at people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
